Sunday's tip for an easier life - Spell Check

Ginger: the write solution to grammar and spell check.

How often do you use spell check?  If you're like me, alot.  I am an adult with dyslexia.  This affects how I process language and it is not something you grow out of.  PBS.org states in their article Facts About Dyslexia  on their PBS Parents website that "As adults, people with dyslexia can be successful in many different careers, although many adults with dyslexia continue to have difficulty with spelling and tend to read relatively slowly."

However, it's not just those of us with learning disabilities that struggle with spelling or grammar, many adults do.  Using a spell check program is cumbersome, not all programs have spell check and this means copying and pasting text to accomplish that spell check.  If you facebook, you've caught yourself mistyping and sending at very least one message that you wished you could correct and had to post again to "fix it".  This makes you feel silly or stupid.  Enter Ginger.  Ginger is a free app that will spell check and grammar check real time while you are using your other programs, while connected to the internet.  So, while you are typing that facebook status post, you'll see your mistakes highlighted so you can easily correct them with a simple right click of your mouse, saving you embarrassment and time.

Download the free GINGER app here.
Ginger downloads quickly and works seamlessly as you work.  So, while Ginger can't save you the embarrassment of saying something you regret, at least it will be spelled correctly and you'll have used proper grammar to say it.  Give it a try, it's my Sunday tip from the "fitter Fitter" to make your life easier.

Update:  I was recently called on the carpet for how this post was relevant to a blog that deals with health and weight loss.  If you are wondering the same thing, please visit my blog post on how stress affects happiness and how happiness affects your health, titled How Happiness Affects Your Health.  Thank you. ~ the Kashubian, the fitter Fitter
